China
Working in collaboration with colleagues in China, researchers from the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have co-published over 1250 publications between 2018 and 2023, including over 100 with Fudan University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Sun-Yat Sen University. This significant research output has been supported and facilitated with funding from, among others, the Australian Academy of Science, Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Health and Medical Research Centre.

Working with colleagues in India, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have been awarded over $AUD 3 million in national and international competitive funding since 2017, including from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Society for Mental Health Research, Australian Academy of Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Health and Medical Research Council.

Indonesia
As a result of collaboration with colleagues in Indonesia, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have attracted over $AUD 1 million in competitive grants since 2017, including from the Australian Research Council, Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and the Indonesian-based Center for International Forestry Research.

Vietnam
The close professional relationship University of Melbourne researchers have developed with academic colleagues and health leaders across Vietnam to support health and medical projects and improve clinical practice, is receiving growing recognition from influential multilateral organisations including the Asian Development Bank and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Working in close collaboration with US colleagues in organisations such as the National Institutes of Health and at universities including Harvard, John Hopkins, Stanford and Washington, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have attracted significant funding from a wide range of organisations including, Alzheimer’s Association USA, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Australian Academy of Science, Australian Research Council, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, National Health and Medical Research Council and National Institute of Health. Such crucial funding has led to life-changing health and wellbeing outcomes, informed by over 5000 peer-reviewed papers in leading medical journals since 2018.

The University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences has cooperative partnerships with leading Canadian organisations and universities that have attracted funding from a wide range of national and international funding bodies including Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation, Australian Research Council, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Cancer Australia, Global Health Innovative Technology Fund, Movember, National Health and Medical Research Council, and the National Institute of Health and Suicide Prevention Australia. Working with Canadian colleagues, Melbourne researchers co-publish over 2500 publications between 2018 and 2023.

University of Calgary-University of Melbourne Cumming Connector Program
Germany
Since 2018, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have co-written over 2000 publications with colleagues from Germany, including over 200 with the researchers from the universities of Berlin, Bonn, Cologne, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Munich, and Tubingen. These important research collaborations have attracted grants from national and international funding bodies including the Australian Research Council, the Human Frontier Science Program, National Ataxia Foundation and the National Health and Medical Research Council.

France
Researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have collaborated with French colleagues in the co-writing of 1700 publications between 2018 and 2023, including over 500 with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (Inserm).
The work of the partnership has been supported with grants Australia and internationally including from the Australian Academy of Science, European Commission, National Health and Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists and The Yugilbar Foundation.

Belgium
University of Melbourne researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences are making rapid progress with colleagues in Belgium to pursue scientific and medical research, support cultural academic opportunities for joint PhD candidates, and attract support from European and Australian funding organisations to develop impactful health and medical innovations and proactive interventions.

Working in partnership with colleagues from across the United Kingdom, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health sciences have co-authored approximately 5000 publications since 2018, including over 500 with Cambridge University, Kings College, Oxford University, University College London, King’s College and Imperial College. Their research has been supported by Australian and international funding from organisations such as the Australian Research Council, Cancer Research UK, Center for Disease and Prevention, Economic and Social Research Council, Medical Research Council UK, Movember, National Health and Medical Research Council and Universitas 21.

Kiribati
University of Melbourne researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and Melbourne Climate Futures are working with health and medical colleagues in Kiribati to effectively demonstrate the economic benefit of addressing non-communicable diseases and enhancing the health and resilience of at-risk populations to climate change.

Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics
The Cumming Global Centre for Pandemic Therapeutics, established in 2022 at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, is a vital part of the University of Melbourne. With a historic AU$250 million donation from philanthropist Mr. Geoffrey Cumming and additional support from the State Government of Victoria, the Centre is dedicated to the rapid development of antiviral treatments. By collaborating with leading medical researchers and funding innovative research programs, the Centre aims to transform the management of future pandemics and save lives.
