Research partnerships across Europe
Working in collaboration with leading universities and organisations across Europe, supported by funding from Australian and international funding bodies, researchers from the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have played crucial roles in improving the health and wellbeing of people throughout the world.
Germany
Since 2018, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have co-written over 2000 publications with colleagues from Germany, including over 200 with the researchers from the universities of Berlin, Bonn, Cologne, Hamburg, Heidelberg, Munich, and Tubingen. These important research collaborations have attracted grants from national and international funding bodies including the Australian Research Council, the Human Frontier Science Program, National Ataxia Foundation and the National Health and Medical Research Council.

France
Researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences have collaborated with French colleagues in the co-writing of 1700 publications between 2018 and 2023, including over 500 with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (Inserm).
The work of the partnership has been supported with grants Australia and internationally including from the Australian Academy of Science, European Commission, National Health and Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists and The Yugilbar Foundation.

Belgium
University of Melbourne researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences are making rapid progress with colleagues in Belgium to pursue scientific and medical research, support cultural academic opportunities for joint PhD candidates, and attract support from European and Australian funding organisations to develop impactful health and medical innovations and proactive interventions.

Working in partnership with colleagues from across the United Kingdom, researchers from the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health sciences have co-authored approximately 5000 publications since 2018, including over 500 with Cambridge University, Kings College, Oxford University, University College London, King’s College and Imperial College. Their research has been supported by Australian and international funding from organisations such as the Australian Research Council, Cancer Research UK, Center for Disease and Prevention, Economic and Social Research Council, Medical Research Council UK, Movember, National Health and Medical Research Council and Universitas 21.
