9:30-9:50 | Plenary: Collaborating for a Collaborative Practice Curriculum. Presentation Elizabeth Molloy, Professor of Work Integrated Learning Department of Medical Education; Academic Director, Interprofessional Education and Practice MDHS In this plenary, Professor Elizabeth Molloy will share with us a vision for our Faculty’s Centre for Collaborative Practice, a centre to develop student capabilities for collaborative practice and improve team-based practice in the health workforce. Liz will showcase some examples of current innovations (workforce and curriculum) with a focus on the collaborative processes required to design and implement the initiatives. Liz’s plenary will kickstart a series of opportunities to connect across the day to help us all draw upon and extend our collective (and diverse) expertise in supporting collaborative practice for health. | ||||||
9:50-10:40 | Panel: Collaborative Practice There is little debate about the imperative for our students to graduate with strong capabilities for collaborative practice. As noted on our Interprofessional Education and Practice site, “High quality and safe healthcare is best delivered by a team that works in collaboration with the person receiving care and with each other.” Collaborative practice readiness is likewise essential for broader engagement with communities and partners to support health. But how exactly are students and academic and professional staff understanding, speaking about, learning and modelling these capabilities for collaborative practice? Panel members will share practices and perspectives to help us reflect upon what we can all do to support excellence in collaborative practice for health.
