Clinical Neuropsychology
Thank you for choosing a student from the department of Neuropsychology. Student placement run in their first and second year of study. During the first year, students are introduced to the clinical setting through up to 200 hours of observational placement activities. While in their second year (for Masters students) and subsequent years (for Master/PhD students), students participate in 4 x 12 week placements covering a range of contexts including acute neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, paediatrics, psychogeriatrics, and rehabilitation.
Placement structures and guidelines have been developed in line with the requirements of APAC and recommendations of the APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists with respect to accreditation of neuropsychology training courses.

Before placement
It’s a good idea to start planning early for your student’s first day, as there are a few things you may need to organise.

During placement
Whilst on placement students are directed to produce work to your specifications, including your preferred formatting, writing and reference style.

Conclusion of placement
Ensure your student concludes the student placement successfully by completing the relevant end of placement activities.
