Raising the Bar - Health Edition

On Wednesday 13 May 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences transformed some of Melbourne’s favourite bars and pubs into popup classrooms for one inspiring night.

It was a special health edition of Raising the Bar – an evening of bold ideas and new learning – presented by some of Melbourne’s leading healthcare experts. Guests were able to choose from 20 different talks across 10 venues in the one night, with topics ranging from AI and cancer research to menopause information overload, helping kids sleep, healthy social media habits, the future of robotic surgery and much more.

Transforming diabetes care

Type 2 diabetes is the fastest growing chronic condition in Australia and one of the biggest challenges confronting Australia’s health system.
