Conditions of Award

Eligible staff can apply for a grant of up to $40,000 in flexible funding.

The grant is for the continuation of research during their parental leave, or as they transition to and from parental leave for Level A, B or C staff with a 40% research allocation, within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS).

Funding can be used to support salary and/or research-related expenses outlined in the guidelines and include travel costs, child-care for conferences and direct research costs.

The grants are available up to a maximum period of 12 months.

The applicant is responsible for outlining a plan for the research activity during the period of leave. This includes how project milestones and progress will be communicated.

The supervisor is responsible for supporting the applicant's research within the department during the designated period, based on the proposed research plan.

Recipients are required to provide a short report on completion of the grant. This report should provide information on the research achievements and outcomes and how the grant has provided benefit to your career development as a researcher.
