The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our Parkville campus is situated. We are currently studying and working on the land of the Wurundjeri people and we would like to acknowledge Elders past and present.

We would also like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Yorta Yorta Peoples, whose land is where our rural campus in Shepparton is situated, and acknowledge their Elders, past and present. Our respects extends to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students in our faculty.

Who we are

Hello! I’m Sam Whittaker, your Indigenous Student Success Team Leader here at MDHS. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and supporting you throughout your journey, whether you’re exploring pathways into one of our courses or are already studying with us.
I can assist with graduate pathway advice, navigating the University and its services, advocacy, student support, and more.

You’ll usually find me in the MDHS Student Hub on the Ground Floor of the Alan Gilbert Building, or upstairs on Level 1 in the Indigenous Student Study Space.

Please feel free to come say hi, have a yarn, or just hang out. I’m always happy for a chat!
