During placement

Students and field educators (supervisors) are supported by a tutor (liaison). Students complete a workbook to guide them in the integration of theory and practice, and to support them showing competence across the graduate attributes - this is marked by the university tutor. Students attend group supervision, provided by the university, to complement the required individual supervision, which must be provided by a social worker with at least two years fulltime (equivalent) practice experience. Additionally, there are integration sessions at the university to extend and consolidate the students’ learning.

Field educators are offered a week by week guide of the student’s tasks and resources to support them in their role.

There is a mid-placement assessment that is conducted by the tutor, with the student and the field educator, to track the student’s progress, needs and to address any concerns.
