Why now?

Chronic illness places an immense burden on families, deep health inequities leave too many behind, and our healthcare system needs thoughtful, immediate transformation to keep pace with accelerating technology. The University of Melbourne is uniquely positioned to nurture these solutions, standing at the heart of Australia's largest biomedical precinct where world-class research infrastructure meets compassionate expertise across public health, clinical science, and policy. Backed by over $434 million* in annual research income, and guided by expert advisory committees, we work together with clinicians and communities to implement practical, lasting solutions to advance health for a changing world.
