ThinkBIG Workshop for MDHS EMCRs

Supporting early-mid career researchers to think up big, innovative, and impactful research ideas.

ThinkBIG aims is to bring together early-mid career researchers (EMCRs) from MDHS, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Engineering and IT at The University of Melbourne to ignite ideas and create innovative ways to develop big, bold research questions that have the potential for great impact.

ThinkBIG involves three workshops across three weeks in November. In the first workshop, EMCRs will hear from guest speakers who will share their experiences, tips, and tricks in developing big innovative research ideas. The second workshop will focus on how to craft a concise, accessible, and engaging short research pitch. The final workshop will involve a (non-compulsory) pitch of your own BIG idea to an expert panel.

The workshops are on campus and on line:

November 16th 3:30-5:00pm
November 23rd 3:30-5:00pm
November 30th 3:30-5:00pm

Ian Potter Auditorium, Kenneth Myer Building,  The University of Melbourne, Parkville campus

Anyone is welcome to attend (including PhD students and non-EMCRs) , but only EMCRs in MDHS, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Engineering and IT are able to enter the pitch competition.

Attendance will also be possible via Zoom
