A new initiative for staff with lived experience of disability in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, was launched by the Professor Jane Gunn (Dean) with Professor Natalie Hannan (Associate Dean, Diversity and Inclusion), Dr Rita Hardiman (Melbourne Dental School) and Associate Professor Jess Heerde (Melbourne Medical School) at the Science Gallery on Monday 20 March 2023.

Staff Disability Inclusion Network

In 2022, the Staff Disability Inclusion Network was established by colleagues with lived experience of disability, as a means of connecting co-workers with disability to each other, and to relevant resources, supports and services at the University of Melbourne.

It can be difficult to know what support is available across the university and how to access relevant information, and we understand there are many different issues to address, which is why a peer network is important. All staff in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, including casual, fixed term and contract staff who identify as living with a disability or are family members of people with disability can join the network. Sign up at the link below and you will receive further details on how to connect with others via our Teams group.
