2022 Diversity and Inclusion Staff Survey

As part of the University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, all staff are invited to complete the 2022 Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) survey.

The D&I survey seeks to help us understand how we are progressing against our core D&I goals, and to obtain feedback on what more can be done to create a diverse and inclusive environment. Our intention is that this survey will become a regular feature for the University, as will the reporting of our progress. The survey seeks to understand staff experience and perceptions of inclusion at the University, and to collect baseline data on demographic diversity.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

The University will receive aggregate level, de-identified results only and the findings will be shared with staff once available later in the year. You can find out more about the survey – which will be hosted by third-party provider, Voice Project – and how data will be securely managed in line with the University’s Privacy Policy, on the dedicated Staff Hub page.

Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2030

As an accompanying document to the strategy, a Diversity and Inclusion Progress and Impact Framework (PIF) was developed to provide comprehensive D&I metrics to report and monitor progress against the strategy. The survey is one way metrics and insights will be captured, as an input to the PIF.

Since the launch of the D&I strategy last year, our key areas of focus have included:

  • The launch of the Gender Affirmation Policy and development of a new Disability, Accessibility and Inclusion Policy
  • The University’s first Gender Equality Action Plan, endorsed by the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector
  • The development of new action plans – LGBTIQA+ inclusion, disability inclusion, and a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD)/anti-racism action plan are currently underway.
