Building co-design capability in health researchers

The Centre for Digital Transformation of Health partnered with the University of Melbourne's Department of Medicine to address a recognised gap in co-design training for early and mid-career researchers.

Funded by the University of Melbourne Researcher Development Unit, the project brought together a multidisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive suite of self-paced co-design resources.

The training package equips researchers to work collaboratively with consumers and communities, ensuring lived experience informs research from the outset. Since its release, it has strengthened co-design capability across the research sector and fostered a growing community of practice dedicated to meaningful community engagement.

The resources are freely available through the University of Melbourne's Canvas learning platform.
