Sustainability, Climate and Health Strategy 2030

strategy 20230

The health of people and the planet are deeply interconnected -- from the air we breathe and the water we drink, to the food we eat, the places we live and the climates we inhabit.

Yet, at the same time, the health sector carries substantial environmental impacts both nationally and globally. We need to urgently address these.

As health academics, educators, researchers, professionals and students, we share a collective responsibility to change our practices, reduce our environmental footprint and support the health of our communities in a changing world.

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) now has a Sustainability, Climate and Health Strategy 2030 to drive action for environmental sustainability, climate resilience and biodiversity. Developed through extensive consultation across the Faculty and beyond, this Strategy provides guidance for MDHS schools, departments, centres at the university and in our health partner network to embed environmental sustainability and climate resilience across our operations, education, research and communities and global engagement.
