Donor: Commencing in 2010 the University conducted a public appeal, inviting donations from within and outside the University by an appeal form, which stated that donations were- ‘to support scholarships for students in medicine, dentistry and health sciences at The University of Melbourne.' Benefits

Annual payment of $12,000 to assist with cost associated with their program of study.

Up to 5 awards may be offered in any given year.

Eligibility

Open to full-time students enrolled in the Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Medicine who have successfully completed 200 credit points and who are experiencing financial hardship.

Selection

Applicants will be ranked on the basis of financial need and academic merit, each being weighted equally. Academic merit will be determined on the basis of a weighted average for all results completed in the eligible program at the time of application. In the case of a tie, academic performance will be the decisive factor.

Continued receipt of the award is dependent upon successfully completing all subjects in the previous year of enrolment and demonstration of continued financial hardship.

Application

Students must submit an online Student Financial Assessment form (Round one) by the closing date.

Outcome

Successful applicants will be notified in late May.
