About

The Margaret McGregor Memorial Scholarship in Social Work was established with a gift from multiple donors and is offered to domestic students who are enrolled in the Master of Social Work and who are experiencing an impairment or disability.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $15,000 per year for two years, paid in half-yearly instalments of $7,500.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, students must be enrolled in the first year of the Master of Social Work (or its successor).

Selection

Number of awards available: 1 per year.


The scholarship is offered to the student who is ranked highest by the selection panel based on their personal statement and their overall disadvantage score.

Application

Students must submit:

  1. An application with a personal statement describing the impact of disadvantaged circumstances on their ability to study (including supporting documents) and,
  2. Submit a University Student Financial Assessment form.

Eligible students must also complete an online Financial Assessment Form - must be submitted by 10 March 2024.

If any applicant wishes to be considered for more than one award, a separate application letter must be lodged for each, but the financial assessment form need be provided only once.

Outcome

Recipients of the scholarship will be advised in writing.
