I have always been intrigued with health sciences ever since I was young. When doing my undergraduate degree here at the University, I found out about the course in Audiology. After careful consideration and further research, I decided to study the Master of Clinical Audiology and it has worked out wonderfully.

The course provides such a wonderful blend of clinical work and research work that makes it such an appealing enterprise. This combination offers such a unique study experience as well as amazing career opportunities.

Having done my undergraduate degree at the University I felt at home in Melbourne. Moreover, the University’s support structure and Faculty are terrific which made the decision to choose the University of Melbourne for my postgraduate study an easy one.

The placement opportunities with the course have been amazing. I have found that it offers such an invaluable learning experience that could not be attained otherwise.

I must say that the COVID-19 pandemic has made things not ideal as a lot of the in-person classes have been moved online. But I can’t help but commend the Faculty and educators as they have put an immense amount of effort in to ensuring that we did not miss out on great learning opportunities and making sure we had the best support that was available.

Not only have they worked tirelessly to ensure the standard of teaching given to us was top notch, but they have also been flexible, took into consideration the difficulties that the cohort faced due to the transition into online learning and were also invested in the general wellbeing of the students. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the course staff have been during this difficult time.

I could go on and on about the amazing things that the University offers to its students, but what I found to be the best thing about studying here would be the support system. Not only are there great support programs in place to help assist students, but the Faculty and teaching staff are also world class. The educators are always understanding and flexible and above all else genuine in their desire to see students thrive.

My future career goal in the immediate future is to become an Audiology Clinician to gain more experience and build on what I have learned with the University. It is also an aspiration of mine to pursue a PhD in the field of audiology as well somewhere in the future. The course has provided so many valuable learning experiences and allowed me to develop the necessary skillset and knowledge that will enable me to accomplish my goals.

The Master of Clinical Audiology course is truly engaging and have such tremendous educators, so my advice to prospective students is to get in touch with them if you are interested. They show a level of care and understanding that is second to none.
