Thank you messages to the team at Echuca Regional Health

"Having the opportunity to have my rural placement at Echuca Regional Health (ERH) has given me invaluable confidence in my skills and given me a greater appreciation of rural health care. My time at ERH was filled by being surrounded by a supportive and caring staff. I truly loved my time there and it will be a fond memory of my dental career." — Konnar Lue-Kim

Dear the team at Latrobe Community Health Services (Moe),

Thank you so much to all the supervisors and staff at LCHS. I thoroughly enjoyed my rural placement at Moe. Hopefully, we can cross paths again in the future.

Thank you to the team at Northeast Health Wangaratta

I’m Helena, one of the final year Doctor of Physiotherapy Students at The University of Melbourne. I completed one of my placements this year at Northeast Health Wangaratta in the Community Rehab Centre. During this time, I stayed in one of the UniMelb Wangaratta Campus Accommodation.

Northeast Health Wangaratta PlacementReally thankful to have been given this opportunity, as the supervisors and team at the Northeast Health Wangaratta Community Rehab Centre were lovely. Not only did they provide us with learning opportunities on clinical placement, they also took us out on walks to various lookouts and always made sure we were safe and comfortable with our living arrangements.

There were lots of fun learning opportunities, including hydrotherapy at Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre, robotics therapy in the Community Centre and being able to meet all the lovely people in the community. Everyone was really friendly and there was such a warm and lovely culture. I can’t be more grateful to have had this opportunity and support from the Going Rural Health Student Support Scheme. So thanks so much again!

Dear the team at Maryborough Hospital,

I wanted to reach out and personally thank each and every team member of the Maryborough Hospital family and especially the Allied Health team. I honestly could not have imagined a better experience and for this to be my final placement of my degree was something truly special. The amount of support I have received and the friendly attitudes of everyone in the community was truly something to behold and a real testament to the term "small town hospitality".

There was never a moment where I was not made to feel as if I was a valued member of the team and the trust that working professionals of many years had in my young clinical judgement and reasoning was uplifting to my spirits and belief in myself as a clinician. The help I had received was made with a gentle guiding hand rather than stern cold touch which I really appreciated as a student with doubts about their skills. The trust that the medical and allied health team had in me showed me I was capable of much more than I had believed myself capable of and resonated a strength I did not know I had to help better the lives of those around me and the people that I wanted to serve.

I could not have asked for a better send off from life as a student to the working world of healthcare. It is because of this placement and this experience that Maryborough Hospital has provided me that I feel competent to take on future challenges both professional and personal.

Thank you for everything that you have provided me and I truly hope I may have the pleasure of working with the organisation and the amazing people who make it up in the future.

Thank you to the team at Albury Wodonga Health

Dear East Grampians Health Service Ararat,

Thank you for hosting me as a student on clinical placement in 2021. I gained a wealth of experience about rural and regional health which will help me in my career. Thank you to everyone at the Community Health Centre for being so warm and welcoming, and especially to social workers Suhara Perera and Larry April for sharing their clinical expertise with me.

Wishing everyone at EGHS all the best.
