SPARK Travel Scholarships 2018

The SPARK Biomedical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Course trains students in design thinking, product development and commercialisation for unmet medical needs, to support innovation and translational research in the Biomedical Sciences.

In 2018, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) at the University of Melbourne will award two travel scholarships to participate in this course.

General Information

Goal of Course:  To train students to develop skills in design thinking, brainstorming, product development, and commercialisation for unmet medical needs and to become more creative, innovative and savvy in translational research in the Biomedical Sciences. This course is taught through lectures, group work and presentations.

Date: Monday, July 16th – Friday, July 27th 2018 (arrival on July 15 2018 in Berlin)

Venue: ChariteĢ University Hospital and Humboldt Graduate School, Berlin Germany

Cost: Travel Scholarship includes the cost of the course (lectures and tutorials), 2 weeks accommodation (duration of the course), breakfast and lunch each day, weekend excursion in Berlin and 2-week local transportation costs. It does not include dinner and transfers.

Accommodation: Hotel near Berlin Mitte (Breakfast at hotel)

Participants: Up to 30 PhD students from SPARK-associated site universities
