Virtual Reality

Creating truly immersive therapeutic experiences.

Virtual reality (VR) is a powerful therapeutic tool that enables young people to recreate their real-life experience within the safety of the consultation room. For instance, with VR young people are able to practice challenging social scenarios and gradually confront their fears in immersive virtual environments. Abstract therapeutic concepts such as self-compassion, mindfulness or acceptance and commitment therapy can also be brought to life via interactive VR experiences, which show rather than tell young people how their minds work. Our VR team at Orygen Digital is dedicated to designing and evaluating these promising therapeutic applications of VR, both within our advanced Virtual Reality and Technology Innovations Space (VR-TIS) and via increasingly accessible commercial VR products.
