Upon arrival they found themselves in a light-filled room, decorated with Indigenous-designed furnishings and beautiful artworks, that had come over from the Brownless Biomedical Library.

Jess Sturk, Indigenous Student Success Coordinator, welcomed everyone to the temporary new location. It is a stepping stone to the permanent space, also in the Alan Gilbert Building, that will be ready by the start of 2025 and in the meantime is a place to gather, study and celebrate.

The MDHS Indigenous Study Space is available for all Indigenous students and can be accessed with their student card.

The study space is available:

  • 9am to 7pm weekdays,
  • 9am to 5pm on Saturday and
  • Sunday closed without swipe access.

Students will need to use their access card to enter the AGB.

To book the space for events, email MDHS-Indigenous-Admissions@unimelb.edu.au.
