Applications open for 2024-25 Climate and Health Funding Round

The Climate Collaborative Action for Transformative Change in health and Healthcare (CATCH) Lab is now accepting applications for its 2024-2025 Climate and Health funding round, supported by the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Services (MDHS) as part of its commitment to climate change and health research, teaching and engagement. The Climate CATCH Lab is a collaborative interdisciplinary network of researchers, educators, practitioners and strategic thinkers, advancing knowledge and action at the nexus of climate change and health across nine streams, and provided seed funding to seven innovative climate and health projects led by University of Melbourne researchers in 2023-2024.

The 2024-2025 round will fund projects between $15 and $40k each, led by MDHS researchers. Projects must help to realise ‘Climate-resilient, sustainable and equitable communities and health systems’ and be linked to one or more of the Climate CATCH Lab research streams. The 2024-2025 call is seeking projects that aim to make well-targeted and tangible interventions to respond to a health/wellbeing and climate/environment challenge, and is targeting established projects with potential to scale-up. It is designed to provide a bridge to larger external funding schemes. Foundational research will not be funded in this call.

The call for submissions will open on Monday 20 May and close at 5pm on Monday 17 June 2024. Application guidelines and requirements are attached. You can find more information on previous projects here.

The Climate CATCH Lab will host an information drop-in session via Zoom for researchers to learn more about the funding round and discuss their potential projects on Tuesday 28th May, 12.30-1.15pm (AEST). We encourage all interested researchers to join. You can register for the Zoom session here.
