Congratulations to Ethan Scott, new academic lead of the University of Melbourne Neuroscience Initiative

Associate Dean Research Professor Matt Watt is delighted to announce Professor Ethan Scott has been appointed Head of the University of Melbourne Neuroscience Initiative.

The Initiative will bring together UoM’s considerable strengths in neuroscience to promote greater collaboration and synergies between researchers, strengthening connections between UoM and Florey research groups. Its goal is to build and sustain a vibrant community of neuroscience researchers co-located within the Kenneth Myer Building.

Ethan brings outstanding scientific credentials and a strong track record of research leadership to this role. He is a Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology and an NHMRC Investigator. His research in neural circuits, brain-wide imaging and zebrafish neuroscience has been published journals including in Nature, Science, Cell, Nature Methods, Nature Neuroscience, Current Biology and Nature Communications. He brings significant experience in research leadership, mentorship and building neuroscience communities, including his current role as Director of Research in Anatomy and Physiology.
