SEAMLESS Trial Secures Major National Funding

We are pleased to share that SEAMLESS has received funding through the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Cardiovascular Health Mission for its first research domain, SEAMLESS-DMT.

SEAMLESS-DMT will investigate the combination of drug therapies with high-dose upper limb motor training in the early period following stroke. The study aims to identify safe and tolerable treatment doses with potential to improve recovery outcomes, helping to build the evidence base for future stroke rehabilitation interventions.

Led by a multidisciplinary team of stroke, rehabilitation and clinical trial experts from across Australia, the project represents years of collaborative planning and development. The initiative is supported by an extensive network of researchers, clinicians and partner organisations committed to advancing stroke care and improving outcomes for patients.

The application was supported by key national partners, including the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance, Australian Stroke Alliance, Stroke Foundation, Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand, Occupational Therapy Australia, and the Australasian Stroke Trials Network.

SEAMLESS-APPT (StandardisEd Adaptive Multiphase pLatform for unmEt Stroke needS – Adaptive Pipeline Platform Trial) is an Australian-designed platform trial focused on addressing unmet needs across the stroke care continuum, from ambulance and hospital care through to rehabilitation and recovery at home.
