Collaborative Adaptive Platform Trials Workshop

Co-hosted by the MISCH Research Hub, the newly established Melbourne Centre for Clinical Trials (MCCT) and the University of Melbourne's Department of Critical Care, the Adaptative Platform Trials half day workshop held on the 09th October was a collaborative success.

The aim of the platform trials workshop was to build a better eco system and collaborative environment to foster platform trials around the University of Melbourne and partners. Investigators running platform trials shared their experiences and challenges in the set up and conduction of these complex trials.

Our MISCH Hub statisticians and MCRI data management experts gave an overview of their role and considerations in platform trials and we heard insights from legal, grants and ethics and research office staff members. It was a comprehensive overview and workshop and it's clear that we'll be seeing and supporting an increase in platform trials in the future.
