Dr Scott McAlister
Scott has been undertaking environmental life cycle assessments (LCA) for the last 15 years. Since 2009, he became involved in performing assessments in healthcare, and subsequently has authored and co-authored papers on the environmental impacts of a range of medical devices and interventions.

Associate Professor Forbes McGain
Forbes is an anaesthetist and intensive care physician at Western Health, Melbourne, Australia, and an Associate Professor (Medicine) in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, University of Melbourne and the School of Public Health, University of Sydney. Forbes enjoys being involved in research, teaching and education at the hospital, university and beyond.

Catherine O'Shea
Catherine O’Shea is Program Manager of the Healthcare Carbon Lab. She has worked within the field of healthcare sustainability for 15 years with RMIT; Western Health and Ambulance Victoria. Prior to this she worked as a Registered Nurse for 15 + years across a variety of healthcare settings. She has extensive experience in delivering programs that improve social and environmental performance within the healthcare environment and maintains a strong passion for collaboration in research and policy development.

Dr Jess Abbonizio
Dr Jess Abbonizio is a dedicated advocate for sustainable healthcare and planetary health and brings a diverse, interdisciplinary background to her work. She holds a PhD in planetary health education, a Master of Environment and Sustainability, and a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacology). Her experience includes co‑designing planetary health education with students and health professionals, contributing to a multinational climate communication and education research project, and working as a hospital pharmacy technician and in NGOs. Jess is the Sustainable Healthcare Manager in the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS). With Professor Forbes McGain, she is co-developing a Faculty-wide Sustainability Strategy and strengthening education for sustainability across the MDHS curriculum. She further supports Professor McGain as Project Manager for the NHMRC-funded Healthcare Environmental Sustainability Projects and as co-lead of the Plant to Learn the vAlue of biodiversity iN healThcare (PLANT) Project.
