Registrations now open: Industry Engagement series for ECA and MCA
Are you looking to upskill yourself to find new opportunities for your research in industry? The Melbourne Medical School (MMS) is delighted to announce that registrations are now open for the Industry Engagement Series for EMCAs across MDHS. Designed to enhance the capability of early and mid-career academics to work with industry partners, the series includes panel discussions and practical workshops, and an in-person networking event with industry representatives from a variety of fields. The Industry Engagement Series is being developed and run by the MMS Early and Mid-Career Academics Advisory Committee (EMCA) to address the gap in opportunities to develop industry connections for research and career pathways.

Friday 6 October | 12.00pm - 1.30pm | Online (Zoom)
Gain valuable insights from our distinguished panel of experts—Dr Cathy Drinkwater, Dr Katherine Jackman, Dr Kevin Lee, Dr Nicole Stupka and Dr Priscilla Hong—led by moderator Professor Darren Kelly. They’ll highlight key differences, challenges and opportunities, followed by an audience Q&A.
Repositioning your academic research in a collaborative world
Monday 9 October | 12.00pm - 1.30pm | Online (Zoom)
What is the world missing and where can you add value? Understand how to position yourself and your research, plus a quick introduction on how to pitch your ideas with practical tools to take away.
Crafting your Pitch
Monday 16 October | 10.00am - 1.00pm | In-Person (Parkville campus)
Develop your pitching skills in our interactive workshop with Dr Dhiraj Hans (Senior Business Development Manager, RIC) and industry representatives on hand to provide feedback and help fine tune your messaging. Limited spots available.
Delivering your Pitch
Monday 23 October | 12.00pm - 1.30pm | Hybrid (Parkville campus or Zoom)
Following the Crafting your Pitch session, attendees will have the opportunity to present their full pitch in a supportive environment, with real time feedback from the audience.
Industry Networking Event
Friday 27 October | 1.00pm - 4.00pm | In-Person (Parkville campus)
Come along to our relaxed, friendly networking session with industry partners and fellow early career researchers from the Melbourne Medical School. There will be some pitching, plenty of chatting and opportunities for you to engage with industry representatives.
