MDHS ECA Network Town Hall 2025

Tickets are now available for the MDHS ECA Network Town Hall

Join us for an open dialogue between Early Career Academics (ECAs) and Faculty Leadership within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS). This is your opportunity to ask questions, learn about changes within MDHS, and discuss collaborative solutions to the challenges faced by ECAs within the faculty.

This event is organised by the MDHS ECA Network, an ECA-led committee that supports early- and mid-career academics within the Faculty of MDHS.

We will be joined by:

  • Professor Jane Gunn, Dean (Introduction)
  • Professor Mike McGuckin, Deputy Dean (Panelist)
  • Professor Matthew Watt, Associate Dean of Research (Panelist)
  • Professor Elizabeth Molloy, Deputy Dean Education (Panelist)
  • Professor Nicola Lautenschlager, Deputy Dean People, Community & Partnerships (Panelist)

This event will provide a forum for Early and Mid-Career Researchers from the Faculty to voice the major concerns they have surrounding their positions at the University. Last year, the event had a particular focus on:

Job Security

Funding

ECA Representation and Advocacy

This hybrid town hall event is an opportunity for ECAs to engage with leadership, share ideas, and connect with fellow ECAs. Come prepared to mingle, learn, and contribute to the vibrant network.

For in-person attendants, the event will be followed by a morning tea.

All participants are invited to fill our pre-event survey and submit questions. Questions can also be asked in-person or online during the event.

Note: This is a hybrid event. Please choose the registration type accordingly. If you are no longer able to attend in-person or want to switch from online to in-person registration, please contact the event organisers.
