Validitron Team’s success in pitching for digital solution to prevent re-exposure to harmful medications

Congratulations to the Centre for Digital Transformation of Health’s Validitron Team- Dr Joël Fossouo Tagne, Dr Debbie Passey, Dr Mahima Kalla, Dr Teresa O’Brien and Prof Wendy Chapman for their successful pitch and proposal of ‘Co-design an Integrated System to Prevent Unintentional Re-Exposure to Harmful Medications’ at the 2024 Faculty of Medicine Dentistry and Health Science's (MDHS) Early and Mid-Career Researcher (EMCR) Project Catalyst Grant.

The MDHS EMCR Project Catalyst Grant aims to support EMCR’s to generate pilot/feasibility data and lead an external project grant application. The funding provided from this initiative must be used for generating pilot data, consumer involvement activities and synthesis of evidence where it has been identified this work will enhance competitiveness for externally funded project grant applications. The team have won $30,396 to support the research and development of a digital tool designed to bridge fragmented communication that impacts critical decision-making when care providers may be unaware of prior adverse effects. This initiative aims to enhance information continuity regarding adverse medication events within the patient’s circle of care, supporting informed decision-making and improving patient safety.
