Dr Cindy Blackstock, Gitxsan, is honoured to serve as the Executive Director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society and is a Professor at McGill University’s School of Social Work. Cindy is also Chancellor of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.
A recipient of the 2023 World Children’s Prize, Dr Blackstock is honoured to work with First Nations colleagues and children on a historic human rights case substantiating Canada’s discrimination in First Nations child and family services and Jordan’s Principle. This ongoing case has garnered over $25 billion in new services for First Nations children and their families and $23.4 billion in compensation.
