About
Donor: Professor Emeritus David Penington AC. Professor Penington is an alumna of the University and a former Vice- Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of MDHS. To provide scholarships for enrolling graduate coursework students who intend to undertake the Doctor of Medicine and are experiencing financial disadvantage. The Scholarships are intended to support students for the duration of the four-year Doctor of Medicine.
Benefits
1 new award available annually. $10,000 per year for the duration of the Doctor of Medicine.

Eligibility
To be considered for this award, students must:
- Be enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine
- Completed and submitted a Student Financial Assessment form
Selection
Recipients will be selected by the Melbourne Medical School Scholarships and Bursary Allocation Committee made up of senior professional and academic staff members of the School. The selection of recipients is based on the applicant’s financial aid ranking as provided by the University Scholarships office.
Application
This scholarship is not available in 2023.
Outcome
Students will be notified of the student bursary outcomes in May.
