About
Dr Penelope Foster is a University and Ormond College alumni graduating MBBS in 1976. She played a founding role in the formation of Melbourne IVF and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne. Associate Professor John McBain is one of Australia’s leading gynaecology and fertility specialists. He is currently the Head of the Reproductive Services Clinic at Victoria’s Royal Women’s Hospital. He had a founding role in the formation of Melbourne IVF and became the company’s Chairman.
Benefits
The value of the scholarship is $20,000 per year over the course of a standard Doctor of Medicine degree (4 years).

Eligibility
Students must be enrolling for the Doctor of Medicine (MC‐DMED) and submit a Graduate Access Melbourne application with their course application.
Selection
Applicants will be assessed based on their Graduate Access Melbourne (GAM) applications. The scholarship will be awarded to the GAM applicant who is the highest ranking in the 'disadvantaged socioeconomic circumstances' category.
Application
Students must submit a Graduate Access Melbourne application at the time of their course admission application to be considered for this scholarship.
Outcome
The successful recipient will be notified at the beginning of each academic year.
