About

The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is seeking to increase Indigenous enrolments in its graduate programs. This is to provide equitable access to education for all academically high-achieving students.
The intention of this award is to support the enrolment into and successful completion of MSPGH graduate programs by Indigenous candidates.

Benefits

An annual stipend of $11,000 for full time enrolment (or part time equivalent) will be awarded.
All graduate Indigenous students receive a Commonwealth Supported Place.

Up to a further $5,000* will be offered for Masters level Indigenous students to offset the student contribution remaining after the CSP.
* Note: This CSP offset amount may be reviewed annually in line with changes in CSP Student contributions

Up to $160,000 is available to fund this program across multiple years.

Eligibility

To be considered for this award, students must:
1. Be enrolled in a Master of Public Health degree in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health; and

2. Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (identity verified via the University's Confirmation of Identity process); and

3. Submit a personal impact statement.

Selection

A selection panel will review applications.

Application

Students must submit a personal impact statement form (of 500 words or less) highlighting/demonstrating their purpose of applying for the course, their motivation for studying and how the award will contribute to their knowledge/future study/ career plans/professional aspirations/contribution to the community.

The recipient must maintain satisfactory academic progress for the duration of the scholarship. If they do not the scholarship may be revoked.
