Meet Lisa from Sydney, Australia!
Lisa is currently in the final year of her Doctor of Medicine. Prior to the Doctor of Medicine, Lisa completed her Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University in Queensland.
What do you enjoy most about your course?
I have particularly enjoyed the clinical placements that my degree has offered. Being exposed to such a variety of medicine, including emergency, surgery, general practice, women’s and children’s health just to name a few, has widened my perspective on the amazing possibilities that lie ahead.
Why would you like to become a buddy?
Having been an interstate student in two different states, I know exactly what it is like to start afresh in a new city, in a new university. Having seniors throughout the first year helped me immensely in the transition phase, and I would love to be a helpful figure just like how my seniors were in my life. Now being in my fourth year of my postgraduate degree, I have accumulated many tips and tricks from my experience adjusting to a completely new environment.
What inspires you?
My mum is one of my biggest inspirations. Her undeniable work ethic and perseverance have always motivated me to always work hard, try my best, and remind myself that tough times do eventually pass!
