Working in Research

The Faculty provides proactive support for the participation of its researchers in internal and external funding opportunities, including fellowships and awards, and in strategic research initiatives that are multidisciplinary, thematic and cross-faculty.

Through its dedicated research administration unit, the Faculty facilitates a grant mentoring program, manages the co-investment of research initiatives in accordance with current strategy and directions, promotes research funding and career development opportunities, and coordinates research information and networking events.

Dyason Fellowships to Ee Ming Wong and Dustin Flanagan

Congratulations to Ming from the Department of Pathology and Dusty from the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience at the Peter Doherty Institute, who both received a prestigious Dyason Fellowship awarded by the University of Melbourne. Ming and Dusty will be spending their fellowships in international laboratories to further their respective research in breast cancer and tumour organoid technology.

Data for Health – 18 countries and one billion lives

Bloomberg Philanthropies’ global health partnership is changing how health data is being collected and used in low and middle-income countries.

The University of Melbourne, together with international partners, will be collecting critical health data in 18 low and middle-income countries in Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, and helping governments make informed decisions about public health priorities and programs.
