Summary The risk factors associated with adverse mental health in carers of people with younger-onset dementia needs further information in order to tailor intervention and support strategies.

Project Details

It is known that carers of people with dementia experience adverse mental health, but less is known about carers of people with younger-onset dementia (YOD).Using our cohort of people with YOD, we wish to further investigate the various risk and protective factors that may impact on the mental health outcomes of these carers. We will focus on both factors related to the person with YOD (such as type of dementia, cognition and function) and also carer-related factors (such as demographics, personality). We also are interested in investigating the service usage.
