Project Details

Smoking related Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a disorder associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Patients with COPD are often misdiagnosed, and over treated or incorrectly treated for symptoms such as cough, wheeze and breathlessness on exertion. They are frequently started empirically on one or more of the many (and increasing) choice of inhalers available. This prospective cohort study aims to improve the accurate diagnosis and appropriate management of COPD in our patients by using a combination of clinically available tests.
