Summary A neuroimaging study of the impact of triggering life events in acute presentations of conversion disorder/FND
Project Details
The role of trauma as a cause of conversion disorder, also known as functional neurological disorder (FND, is unclear. We previously demonstrated how certain life events were strongly linked with the onset of FND, and how the processing of these events was abnormal. This study seeks to extend those findings by studying acute presentations (those that are brought to emergency rooms as a suspected stroke), and by exploring how the processing of these events may be related to symptoms, using fMRI.
