Summary In the Cox laboratory, we use zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a model system to study pathways that regulate liver growth during development, regeneration and cancer. Our lab is especially interested in understanding the mechanisms by which metabolism is reprogrammed in cancer. We employ a wide range of techniques including multiphoton microscopy, metabolomics and transcriptomics in zebrafish models of liver regeneration and cancer. Our ultimate goal is to identify critical metabolic vulnerabilities that can be exploited for the development of therapies to combat cancer.
