Melbourne Clinical Genomics Platform

The Melbourne Clinical Genomics Platform makes the most of the genomic capabilities of the University of Melbourne Centre for Cancer Research located within the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre. The technologies and the expertise of supporting staff are readily accessible to researchers, clinician and students across the precinct.

The University of Melbourne Centre for Cancer Research (UMCCR) seeks to improve cancer patient outcome through cancer genome discovery, translation and personalised medicine.

The Melbourne Clinical Genomics Platform (MCGP) uses the genomic sequencing capabilities of UMCCR to make this technology readily accessible to researchers, clinicians and students across the precinct. Through the department of Clinical Pathology an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 and MiSeq are available.

MCGP will accelerate the adoption of genomic technologies into our research and teaching programs and into clinical practice by providing researchers, clinicians and students with an accessible and university-wide genomic platform and user training.

The MCGP offers a range of Massively Parallel Sequencing services.
