Leading the future of healthcare: New award programs in Clinical Leadership and Clinical Research announced
The Department of Medical Education (DME) announced the launch of a new series of bespoke graduate programs in Clinical Leadership and Clinical Research this week. Following the ongoing success of the Excellence in Clinical Teaching Program, introduced by Professor Steve Trumble in 2013, the DME was delighted to introduce two new programs to its graduate offerings. Created for health professionals and embedded within the clinical context, these programs are designed as professional development opportunities to support the lifelong learning of clinicians from any discipline.
Clinical Leadership
The first of our Clinical Leadership courses, the Specialist Certificate is designed to provide health professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote excellence within your healthcare setting. This evidence-based program is designed to help healthcare professionals provide better outcomes for their organisations, colleagues and patients.

Clinical Research
Focused on developing the key skills required to begin or progress your clinical research career, the Graduate Certificate will focus on clinical research design and methodology, including quantitative and qualitative methods, evaluation of research literature, statistical analysis and ethics in clinical research. The first in a series of nested awards providing a pathway of study towards the Graduate Diploma and the Master of Clinical Research (launching in 2018).

Clinical Teaching
Our successful Excellence in Clinical Teaching (EXCITE) program provides a focus on the practical application of teaching skills for busy clinicians. It will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to educate and train health professional students in any clinical setting. The nested series of Clinical Teaching award courses provides a pathway of study from the Grad Cert through to the Master of Clinical Education for those who seek to be leaders in their field.
