MDHS and CMC Vellore to launch Health Leaders webinar series

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) and CMC Vellore in India will soon launch a Health Leaders webinar series. This virtual engagement activity – which will commence on Wednesday 14 October – is an opportunity for MDHS and CMC Vellore to establish a network of health leaders and develop clinical research collaborations that address problems in our region.

L-R: Professor Anna Pulimood, Principal, CMC Vellore; Professor Shitij Kapur, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences; and Professor JV Peter, Director, CMC Vellore

Participants from each institution will meet during three highly interactive online sessions over the coming months. They will engage with each other and with distinguished guest speakers, including health leadership and policy experts and global research leaders from Australia and India. Discussion themes include supporting health and research leadership skills, strengthening health security in the Indo-Pacific region and sharing front-line experiences during COVID-19.

Selected participants include those with strong clinical and research backgrounds in the areas of Infection and Immunity, Public Health, Child Health, Cancer, Optometry and Trauma/Emergency Care. The series will seed growth for a new generation of clinician-researchers in India and spark new collaborations and research programs that are competitive for international grants.
