Founders Medal of the Society for Mental Health Research
Professor Emeritus Henry Jackson has been awarded the prestigious 2018 Founders Medal of the Society for Mental Health Research (SMHR).
“This medal is awarded in honour of the founders of SMHR to the researcher who, over their entire career, has made a contribution of significance to psychiatric research.”
The SMHR was formerly known as The Australasian Society for Psychiatric Research (ASPR) and is the peak national body for psychiatric and mental health research in Australia and New Zealand. Since the inauguration of the Founders Medal in 1998 there have been 19 previous recipients of the Medal.
Some previous recipients are Michael Berk, Richard Bryant, Helen Christensen, Ian Hickie, Maree Teesson, Patrick McGorry, Tony Jorm, Gordon Parker and Gavin Andrews.
