MDHS ECR Network OGM: Call for nominations

The Early Career Research Network is holding its OGM, which gives you an opportunity to join us!

Dear MDHS ECRs,

It’s that time of year again… join your local ECR community! The Early Career Research Network is holding its OGM, which gives you an opportunity to join us!

Are you an ECR?

Membership of the ECR Network is open to any employee of the MDHS Faculty who self-identifies as an ECR, encompassing individuals nearing the completion of their PhD and at the early stages of their research careers (typically levels A and B).

About us

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) Early Career Researcher (ECR) Network aims to support ECRs to achieve research excellence. The ECR Network is an ECR-led initiative established by, and for, ECRs within our Faculty. The ECR Network facilitates networking, and promotes research and career development opportunities. The ECR Network Committee serves to coordinate the organisation and planning of our activities, and to facilitate communication between ECRs and MDHS leadership. ECR Network Committee members are invited to the Faculty Council Meetings and various other Faculty events and committees, to have our say on ECR matters. The Committee seeks to provide representations from all Schools, Departments and affiliated Institutes within MDHS.

What is involved?

The Committee meets monthly to discuss the organisation of events, opportunities for ECRs, involvement with Faculty meetings and strategy. You are not required to come to every meeting of course (we all have conferences and holidays), but an active role in our activities is encouraged.

Joining the MDHS ECR Network Committee is a great opportunity to:

*          contribute to the Faculty’s ECR initiatives;

*          engage with the Faculty leadership;

*          be part of a like-minded community;

*          broaden your research network;

*          learn from and share experiences with ECRs across multiple disciplines;

*          develop your research career and professional skills;

*          access professional development activities; and

*          be involved in public engagement;
