Early Career Academic Conference Support Scheme
This scheme provides financial support to enable ECAs to participate in research conferences.
The Early Career Academic (ECA) Conference Support Scheme is intended to assist MDHS ECAs with high research potential to further enhance their research capabilities, national/international profile, and collaborative network, and to build on their track record.
Applicants may request funding towards the total cost of conference participation for a maximum of:
- $1,000 for virtual attendance
- $2,000 for conferences within Australia
- $4,000 for international conferences

Eligible conference dates: 1 December 2022 - 30 September 2023
Round closes: Thursday 27 April 2023
Presentations: 3-4pm Monday 1 May and 10-11 am Tuesday 2 May 2023
Outcomes expected: Mid-May 2023
Eligible conference dates: 1 May 2023 – 28 February 2024
Round opens: Thursday 21 September 2023
Round closes: Thursday 12 October 2023
Presentations: Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 October 2023
