Message from the Dean, 29 September 2020
Spring is in the air, case numbers are down, and I'm feeling upbeat and thankful for all our staff and students. You've achieved so much this year. It's remarkable that our Faculty is teaching more and producing more research than last year.
In this week’s video, I cover:
- The Vice-Chancellor's recent message outlining the path forward for our University as we respond to the pandemic – I welcome your feedback through the 'MDHS Have Your Say' mailbox
- A COVID-19 saliva testing pilot being led by Doherty Institute Deputy Director, Dr Mike Catton, that could provide a blueprint for continuous testing in higher-risk workplaces
- Hats off to our newest group of MDHS graduates! Please join me in leaving a message on the MDHS noticeboard to wish them well, and check out the digital celebration kit
I'm also sharing some of the wonderful ways we are managing to stay connected at this time. For example, a pandemic themed playlist has been created by Doherty Institute staff. And in the Department of Social Work Kate Sellick set up a digital notice board to bring one another happiness in 2020 (see their favourite brownie recipe below).
What are you and your teams doing to stay connected? Please reply to this message and let me know!
Stay safe and keep well, and as always, keep up to date with the latest information on the University's COVID-19 response by regularly checking the dedicated page.
Warm regards.
