Message from the Dean, 24 August 2020

Today I'm wearing my Akubra to draw your attention to Wear it Purple Day this Friday. It's a day to celebrate LGBTIQA+ young people and support them to feel safe and proud of who they are. While we are not seeing the usual rainbows around campus, there are still many ways to celebrate and show support. Find out how you can get involved here.

In this week's video message I also cover:

  • An update on the process to address the University's financial challenges – you can find more information on the University and Faculty pages, and you can send your feedback and questions through the 'MDHS Have Your Say' mailbox
  • Some interesting developments in COVID science, including a new paper on antibodies and T cell immunity, and a study in Germany to measure social distancing and the spread of microparticles at a concert
  • The new Nossal Institute course COVID-19: Global Health Perspectives available for free online, provides invaluable perspectives for professionals, teachers, students and researchers of global health
  • Thank you once again to all of you who have sent in wellbeing strategies to support the mental and physical health of our community during lockdown, please continue to share them for your chance to go into the draw to win a prize pack

Please stay up to date with the latest information on the University's COVID-19 response by regularly checking the dedicated page.

Stay safe and keep well.
