Supporting early career researchers with significant caring responsibilities to maintain research momentum or build their research profile
Provides support for early career researchers in the School with primary responsibility to care for infants, young children, sick or aged family members.
Supports staff to maintain research momentum while taking maternity/paternity or care’s leave and/or to build their research profile while having carer responsibilities.
Up to five grants of approximately $10,000 per year to support staff (for example, funding for a research assistant to complete an experiment while the researcher is on maternity leave or for a family member to accompany a researcher with an infant to a conference to care for said infant, allowing the researcher to present and network at the conference).
Open to fixed-term and continuing research active Level A, B and C early career researchers in either Teaching & Research or Research Focused roles.
Call for applications from February to November each year.
Applications are considered by a panel comprising the Head of School, Chair of the School's Research Committee and the Faculty's Associate Dean Equity, Diversity and Staff Development.
