Start-up company Tianli Biotech to develop new anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic treatments

The University of Melbourne, together with First Biotech, has established a new start-up company, Tianli Biotech, to develop new therapies based on an original discovery in the lab of Professor Alastair Stewart (Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics).

Tianli Biotech will directly fund discovery and development programs to be led by Professor Stewart and Professor Spencer Williams (School of Chemistry) to enable the development of a new suite of compounds for the treatment of respiratory and fibrotic disorders.
