Donor: 2/9th Australian Field Ambulance Unit Association to commemorate the services of the late Colonel Hedley Frank Summons MBBS (1972), PGDLA (1933) to Australia in peace and war, his services to the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and his services in the Military Forces and also in honour and recognition of him as the Commanding Officer of the 2/19 Field Ambulance Unit and as first President of the Association.

Eligibility

The prize exam is open to Doctor of Medicine students who are in their third or fourth year.

Selection

The prize exam consists of a one-hour written examination (short-answer and picture questions). Shortlisted candidates may then be invited to attend an additional viva examination.

The 2017 Hedley F. Summons Prize in Otolaryngology will be taking place on Saturday the 7th of October at the Rand Theatre, University of Melbourne.
